Am I wasting my time

I have a 05 crf450 "carburetor" . Would it be a waste of time setting this up with a timbersled?

I have a boosted sled and love it but have some awesome tight areas around that the snowlike would be so much more fun.
Little insight from guys with knowledge would be helpful. Should I just wait and get a new bike or can I set This up to run and if so what set up and should I be looking at for setting up a older bike like this.

Thanks Dan

I have an 07,and run it with a 14,ST works awesome.Modify the air box stiffen up forks.Good to go.

Not a waste of time at all. Throw on a kit and ride and have a blast. Tweek it as you go.

It's a year newer than my carbed ktm and its been a riot for two seasons now.It will be at least two more years before i can justify a newer bike and before i spend money on that, I'll upgrade my snowbike kit from a 2014 to a new one.

All bike years and makes have there quirks. Learn your Honda's and decide from there.

We have guys around here running the 2003 to 2008 models and do just fine. Get some protection around the carb and rip it!

Awsome thanks for the reply. I will haul my bike back out off storage and start reading some threads before I start asking a bunch of questions regarding set ups that have already been answered.

Thanks and cheers
Dan

I think the fastest Non turbo/nitrous TS I have ridden with is an older carb Honda 450!!!could have been the rider also?

most certainly not, I have a 2006 yz450f and it rips harder then any other bike i have seen with the timbersled. even the big ones like ktm 525....
im hanging right there with them all day.

Have you seen any of my snow biking videos? The older Hondas kick butt! Search jethro450 on YouTube. Not a waste at all and in my opinion it's one of the better platforms out there.
