Always make sure there is enough snow before going off trail folks!

Did not see my first shot with my new gopro ending this way... Broke the throttle block,bBent both A-arms and kinked the tunnel in the usual Pro RMK spot. Rookie/idiot mistake I won't be making again to say the least!!!

Just an observation and I'm not being a dick but this thought crossed my mind- At 17 seconds I saw you ran over a three foot tall perfectly good small tree for no apparent reason. You were riding in a recreation area where tree huggers and families love to camp and enjoy the wilderness in the summer. When they see snowmobile tracks on the ground(and they do show in the summer) riding right over trees they like to complain that snowmobiles damage the trees and wilderness and then we lose our riding areas.

Dunno if it was karma but less than 30 seconds after you rode over the tree, you hit a frozen in place, big ol' steel campfire ring and pretty much totaled your sled.

That being said, I hope you weren't injured and I feel for ya because taking apart the sled and discovering the damage is painful, especially if it's dumping new snow while you are down.

Interesting. ..my wife got me a go pro for Christmas and last weekend, the first time I used it I did the exact same thing! I was in quite a bit more snow than that but fortunately going slow since I had a feeling and should have known better. My results weren't so bad. Just a bent tie rod and torn boot. Sprained wrist and bruised legs from hitting the bars mid flight. Complete flip and landed on my feet, all on film! I need to figure out the you tube thing to share.

Duly noted... I came in with a little too much speed and landed where I really didn't want to just before hitting the tree. You can barely see the stump to the left and there was one to the right. I will admit I'm not a great rider and didn't see another option at the time. Typically I try and avoid hitting trees like this, but this time I made a mistake.

Edit: I have since edited said part out of the video so as not to bring down our sport's reputation. If anyone want's to see the original PM me...

Don't think any of that would of happened had you not been what looks like a recreational area! Never seen a park bench and fire pit in any place I've gone snowmobiling! Still sucks about the sled!!! Not a cheap crash, either!!

Sorry about your misfortune! It is a pretty cool video that reminds me of a few stationary objects that I have visited. I hope that you get it repaired soon so the season doesn't pass you by. By the way, your sled graphics look nice.

That's barely enough snow for a road ride. I knew what was coming when I saw the picnic table on the video. Only thing missing was the loud clang of the steel fire pit. My Oldman woulda whooped my azz if I was riding though there with that little of snow! But that's the benefit of growing up in this sport. I learned all these lessons back in the 80s. So if your have someone you ride with that's been doin this for a while and they tell ya stay on the road there's not enough snow. This is why!

Also get your skid plates. My friend learned this at Gallagher last weekend, when he hit a rock trying to get across a stream on the trail, and it ripped the front heat exchanger off its rivets and cracked it on his newer skidoo.
