Aluminum track

Hello,

I'd like to install in floor tie downs in my new enclosed trailer. I really like how Mission and Floe put the strip down in the floor so it's flush with the deck. Is the stuff available commercially? What is it called?

I have a enclosed Aluma trailer with what looks like the same track that you have. All I can say is mine sucks. The ice and snow on the sleds melts and then the water runs into the channel filling it and then freezes solid. I am in the process of rectifying this problem.
Sent you a PM.

Yes! What he said! we have a Triton with a similar system and when it fills with snow and ice it makes things so much more difficult than it needs to be! When it's dry I love it.

Ah, I never thought about that with the aluminum track but can imagine it'd be a pain. Maybe surface mounted E track is the way to go.

Were installing the aluminum L track into our new trailer. We looked at the e-track and it's much cheaper but being all steel I was worried it would rust on the floor so we went with the aluminum "L" track. plus the L track has a Superclamp mount to it so we can continue to just use our clamps. I plan to add e-track to the walls at some point.

Had a 4 place Floe with a 22ft clam for many years, their wide flush channel track front to back, and their quick lever tie downs, never had an ice issue, but it did have drain holes drilled every 18" or so. Not heated. It was a great tie down system. FWIW.

That looks like a good idea. I complained about the poor design on my trailer. Didn't even get to first base with that one.

I thought about drilling holes but I was concerned about the holes freezing shut or crap coming up into the trailer. MN loves salt on the roads.

I went with powder coated E-track. The flanged L-track was high on my list but was worried about freezing and the high cost to cover the deck. I was concerned about the steel longevity of driving over with carbides and the potential maintenance work ahead but it was my only option as i tried finding galvanized track locally but nothing was available. After installing it, I don't think it'll be a big issue. Even being surface mounted on the deck, the lip is very small and is rounded so the sleds shouldn't have any issue sliding across.

In the end, E-track gives a lot of flexibility so I can tie down basically anything and anywhere as the track holes are about every inch the entire length of the trailer. If some get iced, another hole is near. Finally, being able to buy straps with the E-clips for ease of use is what made up my decision to go with E-track.

WE CARRY THE TRITON TYPE FLOOR SYSTEM,

As the leading Triton dealer in the west, I usually have this track (along with lots of other triton parts ) in stock. I belive it has holes in the bottom to drain out water, Never had a complaint about it in 16 years selling tritons, Its great cuz there's lots of options that mount into it, Wheel chocks, flat low profile tie downs, eyebolts, super clamp hooks ect.
