I'm looking at a Aluma 7'x24' + 5' V (6' interior height). I need a 4-5 place trailer. Reading the forums, I need at least a 7x27', but 7x29' is preferred. Here's my dumb question...Is this Aluma considered a 7x29'?

I'm a flatlander, so my sleds (and friends) are all 136" or 144". Can I get 5 in this trailer?

There are no fuel doors..I thought this was weird and would like to add them. I was going to call Aluma to buy doors, unless there are other cost effective options.

Last thing is I'm looking for comments on price. This is a 2009 demo(build date late 2008). Very little usage. At first glance, one would say it is new. They are asking $10500. Current MSRP is $14200. I'd assume I could get a new one for ~$12500, but I've not looked. I've heard great things about Aluma, so a little premium on price is OK with me, but I don't want to get screwed.

What are your thoughts on price? How about the trailer in general?

Thanks,

Mark

Aluma measures their trailers to the vee, so that trailer would be a 24'.
I would think you could get 4 easily in there with the lengths of sleds you mentioned, you may even get 5, but would be tighter then w/just the 4.
Aluma makes great trailers, in fact from what I've seen them seem to be better built then Triton, but I'm sure that is subject to debate. As for the price, most Aluma dealers don't mark their trailers down much unless you are friends with the dealer. You won't be sorry if you buy an Aluma trailer.

Thanks Lost..

I'm a little confused. I believe this trailer is 24' plus a 5' vee for an all length of 29'. Are you saying that 5place inlines that are references at 29' are actually 29' + 5' vee? For an overall length of 34'?

Thanks

Trailer Size

I took my four sleds and made an outline of the trailer on the garage floor with some 2 x 4's and then arranged them in the "trailer".

I bought a 7-1/2' because my Edge sleds are wider than my RMK's. You have to take into account the stagger. I load from the front ramp with the sled's facing backward.

I have a 151, 144, 144, 136 and I'm not sure yet if I can squeeze another sled into the V by sliding the back ends to the wall. Check your weight carrying capacity if you are doing 5 plus gear.

My trailer has a 24' box with a 5' v-nose. It's an R & R. St. Cloud now carries them.

I have a 2007 AE714TAV and it is a VERY nice trailer, the standard features it comes with makes it very comparable in price to other trailer mfgs (and its one of, if not the top Alum trailer). About the price, I bought mine used last year and was worried I paid too much, but after doing research I think I paid what I should have.

About the price the cheapest I found was http://www.thomasamerican.com/ which is in IA, I called just about every dealer in a 5 state area of MN. These trailers hold their value very well (vs. steel), might be a tough sell in this economy but then again anything is.

About fitting 5 long tracks in there, I wouldn't think it would be a problem, last year we fit the following in mine on a trip out west, 136 Crossfire, 151 F7, 136 Ski-Doo Rev. We had to take a ski off the Rev but it wasn't a big deal for us.
