Alternative to Mountain Addiction fuel can

I've been looking around too see what options there is for adding a gas can. I like the look of that one. How big is the tank, and how is it secured?

Its not going to work too well.

it still attaches to the tunnel top and there is no strength there. need something that mounts to the sides. thats the only place there is any strength.

I made the mistake of trying out a couple G2 Gas Can Thingy's (thats the actual name) and they aren't the best. The front one on my tunnel has worked flawlessly but the Quick Release mechanism on the back one some how broke my first ride with them so i have an ugly strap holding it down. It doesnt release anyways once snow gets in it. :frusty: Lesson learned for going a cheaper route I guess.

Lessons learned

I had a gas THINGY p.o.s. on my 2moto years ago and it broke the first ride on a lake, I was less than impressed. I rebuilt the whole thing replacing 90 percent of the plastic part with aluminum and then it worked okay, but still required a strap as insurance. My friend has the Mountain Addiction can on his MH and I've watched him fight to get it on and off on the mountain and in his garage. The Skidoo can is probably a little wide for the MH tunnel, it's center to center distance for mounting holes is approx. 15-1/4" (I believe that is wider than the MH tunnel) so I think an aluminum block bolted to the outside of the tunnel side with drilled/tapped holes for the LINQ mounting holes would put the load where you want it. There would be a slight amount of fabrication to mount it on a MH, but it allows for a lot of options for fuel, cargo, etc.
