Alternate exhaust temp. sensor?

Does any body know of an alternate exhaust temp sensor that could be used on a 08 800 dragon? I think it is the same sensor for the dragons and the pro's. I was up at Revy this last week end and had a sensor fail and cause the engine light to flash five times and was running poorly. I had to run down to the Polaris dealer to get one, luckily they had one. From what they were saying it is quite common for them to go. At over $200 with tax it seem excessive. I guess it did not like the extra heat when running 12 lbs boost. A friend of mine had a twisted 1200 cat and he said he was able to use a temp sensor from a diesel, just had to change the plugin on the end.

Search my posts, there is a thread in the Polaris Turbo section. You can use a resistor ($1.99 or so) and trick the ECU. The benefits are discussed in that thread, as well as downfalls. I have been using this mod for two years now.

Take all of your electrical connections apart and check for moisture and use dielectric grease before putting them back together , don't forget the tps . Might solve your problem , Wire harness connections where supplied by walmart varity pak .

Exhaust temp sensor.

I replaced the sensor and it cleared up the code and ran great. Now I am looking for a cheaper alernative for a spare. I have some chrysler, chev, a/c, cummins part numbers that I am investigating. I will post something if I find something that will work. The cummins sensor I have looks the same, just a different plug on the end. Waiting to get the specs for it.

Yes, please post up results when you get them. I'd want to have a spare around as well, but can't justify a spare $180 pipe temp sensor in my toolbox at this point.
