Alone, where to go in the US mountain snowbelt?

Hi, I want to ride a 4-5 days mountain steep and deep trip in the N-west US moutain next winter. I already ride backcountry here in Québec with my 08 Summit 154 but realy want to ride bigger open mountain. I need a all included package with lodging, guide, sled rental and not too far away from a regional airport to come on a flight from Burlington VT just next from the canadian border south of Québec. I checked some place in BC but flight and sled rental seem to be a bit cheaper south and with our canadian $ in good shape it could be the time to visit your US mountain. Because of tight schedule maybe I will have to be alone so no big gang to tag along. Where should I go? I looked at some decents fligt rate to Boise Idaho or Wyoming but the only thing I want is powder to play in and some open ground to climb, no extreme hardcore hillclimb needed. I would like to avoïd tourist trapp if possible.

Can anybody could help me?

toby creek near invermere BC has some of what your looking for

could deffinatly go to togwotee ,, they will pick you up and drop you off at the airport to/from the lodge . and you can go with one of the guides when they take a medium / smaller group ,, just tag along np ,, they rent sleds and guide. or could try line shack

that goes for any town really , you could find a guide and rental about anywhere you want , just call some dealers in the area

I would recomend the rockin m ranch in alpine wyoming.I went there 3 years ago and had an awesome time. I belive Rob the owner does do guided tours, there was also plenty of steep and deep riding in the greys river valley.Good luck.

another vote here for togwotee...they have about everything you are looking for...the only thing is there are alot of people, but the place is so big you wont hardly see anyone all day once your off the trail

If Boise Idaho is one of your possible destinations, then I would consider driving 2 1/2 hours north of there to reach McCall Idaho. Some of the best snow in Idaho with all of the criteria you are looking for in sledding, big wide open bowels, frozen lakes, steep and deep, whatever you want. Also has sled rentals. Go to cheapthrillsrentals.com, he rents only Ski Doo sleds.

Togwotee would be my vote also everything you are looking for is there the only thing would be timing for how crowded its and as mentioned above the place is so huge once your out riding you won't see very many people ,just a little something extra i go out there with a guy who transports people and there sleds out there and other western locations multiple times each year and we pick up our canadian crew just across the border in the U.P. of michigan not sure what kinda drive that would be for you but might be worth it to take your own sled and gear out we usualy pick up between 8-12 guys from there so getting hooked up with someone close to you to ride share might work check out his web site @momsmotorsports.com site is getting updated and probably won't be up until 10/15/2009 but something to look into if you want take your own sled and not rent pm me if you got any questions.

My vote is for Togwotee! Great big place, never seen a crowd except at the Bar. Get a guide and enjoy, always a great time, great snow, and huge meadows, mountains, valley, and trails!! Great people and great location, it's all hard to beat.

Thanks for all the reply on my question. If I had a bunch guy who wants to comme with me on this trip it could make the adventure a lot cheaper (lodge rental, guide fees etc.) but Im will continue my search. Thanks a lot you lucky western riders!!!
