Allen head bolts in helix, will they make contact with housing?

Just put in a helix, switched to allen head instead of the factory torx. They are twice as thick in the head area. Will they contact bearing housing etc? Should I switch to just hex head bolt? What have others done.

Just a note, I opened it up all the way with the little tool and it does make contact, just don't think secondary opens that much. Should I take the spring out and travel along helix and see if it will?? Just thinking about this right now and don't have the sled in front of me.

Thanks T/A do you think that they are a "low profile" hex head or just standard. I am still unsure of clearance Clarence;)

The ones I picked up are 5/16 head thickness as well, 12.9 grade. I am still worried about contact at full pipe?

Thanks again T/A. I will fart around with mine today as well. It is only -30 here today so its play with the sled in the shop or the old lady will have me doing laundry.

Also the secondary adjuster, how do you guys tighten this? I just use big crescent wrench and loctite. Last time I took it off I just about lost an eye LOL.:face-icon-small-hap

I just picked up some standard grade 10.9 bolts and lock washers......now what am I going to use. Have way to much time on my hands!

For all the guys that don't know. I just talked with my dealer mechanic. He said the torque head screws are 8X25 mm said if you are buying bolts this is what you need. Rotaris said 10.9 hardness. Hope this helps. I suggested to the mechanic that he put them in on any sled he tears down. I think he will start doing that.

T/A is that what Shockwave sent?

The hex heads I have are actually 12.9 hardness, and the reg. bolts are 10.9's. Still leary about the hex head being to tall. 8x25 for sure.;)
