Alignment is one of the XP clutch problems.

Dealer told me some sleds are out of alignment, which causes the belt failures. Some are just a little, others a lot out. We know they had poor clutch set up(low pin weight). But after adding weight some still blow belts often. Others in alignment, with weight 16-18 grams, have no belts blow. There is not a factory way to change and properly align these new XP's. The new belt is just for correct deflection not the heat. BRP is not stupid they have been in the snomo business long enough to know why belts are blowing. They have made a business decision to replace belts until warranty expires instead of eat the cost of really fixing the problem. The motor can be pulled and mounts slotted out more to gain space to align. If you want this prepare to fight BRP. They might cover it if pushed hard enough.

oh! this is the first time weve heard about a belt problem? lol. dont worry they will probably get around to it in, maybe november? isnt that what they did in 07? new belt doesnt fix poor clutch set up.
 
A person can take it upon themself and fix it. I waited in '07 for BRP which never came. With good clutch set up, the XP is the best sled I have ever owned.

I am a unhappy xp owner. 2 stockers at about 30 miles each and a xs803 lasted a little over 100 miles.
handwarmers, oil cap leaks every where, gauge resets the trip meter by itself all the time.
Can't wait for the drive shaft to go out. :(
 
Why bother getting it aligned ? As soon as we start running the 377 belt the alignment specs will go out the window ! It never was a hard number thing according to Doo. They origianlly came out and said it was un-adjustable. We should have some sort of a fix soon.
