I know this has nothing to do with sledding, but it was one of the coolest things I have ever done, and I wanted to share :)

These are from a 2 week trip I took to Alaska in June, on the 19th we took a float plane out of Homer over to Katmai, landed in Hallo Bay, not to far from where Timothy Treadwell was eaten... I have to admit, the first time we walked by a Grizzly within 100 yards I was pretty nervous, after a few hours it was normal to have ten or more within that distance, there was a couple times we had one within 20 yards. It was an AMAZING time! Something I want to do every year.

Oh ya, the salmon and Halibut fishing was pretty cool to, we fished 10 of the 13 days we where there, mostly on the Kasilof river, once on the Kenai, and one day out Halibut fishing. I would love to move up there!

sweet pics dune....even though I live here I still love to watch them...sure make the heart pump huh? my first spring bear hunt resulted in me topping a hill(on my sled) and coming face to face with a big grizz at about 10 ft...still dont know which of us was the most shocked...he made a beautiful rug (9'2" squared)....gotta come for a winter visit though...even more beautiful in winter then summer...

spent 10 days there a few years ago and thing about going back all the time- good reminder to do it!! Great pics -

Cool pictures Dunatic! Alaska is a place like no other, wildlife and endless backcountry to explore right from your doorstep. Here's a pic of of little 2 year old griz that paid me a visit in the backyard.
