Al Gore Ties Myanmar Cyclone to Global Warming

Al Gore says that the cyclone in Myanmar is a result of global warming. He told NPR yesterday:


And as we’re talking today, Terry, the death count in Myanmar from the cyclone that hit there yesterday has been rising from 15,000 to way on up there to much higher numbers now being speculated. And last year a catastrophic storm from last fall hit Bangladesh. The year before, the strongest cyclone in more than 50 years hit China – and we’re seeing consequences that scientists have long predicted might be associated with continued global warming.

Gore said that because ocean temperatures are on the rise, extreme and dangerous weather is also on the rise.

Critics of Gore say he's taking advantage of the deaths of thousands of innocent people to promote his political advantage. But, if he truly believes that we must address climate change to stop such disasters and save future lives, doesn't he have an obligation to speak up? If he is wrong about global warming, what harm is there in taking better care of the planet anyways?

himself, his ideas, his books etc.

I just flipped on a news channel (HLN?) and one of the guys with a news show (Beck???) was just ragging on Gore and his comments. Talked about Gore having zero credibility, zero credentials as a climatologist, how he has twisted the scientific facts and how scenes from his movie that he claimed were real (ice shelves breaking etc...) were actually computer generated scenes from Hollywood movies and how the global ice pack is at actually growing, not shrinking. Didn't get to watch the whole thing but what I saw was SWEET!! Good to see the scam getting exposed!
Also talked about the "carbon credit" scam that does nothing for the environment and how C02 is a harmless gas that is neceessary for life and has no connection with climate change.
Remember, if we get Hillary, we get Gore in charge of the environment...she's already said that!

I happened to see a billboard the other day (in Missouri I think) that said something to the effect of "Tell lies and win a Nobel Prize" with a picture of Gore on it. I was laughing so hard I almost hit the ditch.

Simple fact is that stuff like this cyclone has been happening for centuries and it's just that now we hear about EVERYTHING from natural disasters to Britney Spears' cooter showing when she gets out of a car. The damn greenies are just using their #1 spin doctor to further their agenda of human hating once again.

Actually, that is a direct lie.
The ocean isn't getting warmer. The bottom of the ocean (which is where they measure the temps) has held steady since they started recording them something like 30 years ago.

Yep I saw that too lastnight. ABC news discovered that the footage in Gores movie was a copy of a sceen in the movie The Day after Tomorrow.

I say he should have his new Nobel prize stripped from him in public and then be kicked to the curb where he belongs.

You Misunderstand my point on this .I was simply taking a poke at the greenie fanatic *******s like Gore who are hell bent on reducing co2 whatever the cost. However I would admit that sympathy is not my best asset in this case its unfortunate so many died ,but this is simply nature doing as nature does.

Global warming is a Farse. It's not true and many scientists are finally coming out and saying it. The earth goes in freaking cycles. Sometimes it hot sometimes it cold. No freaking crap the glaciers are melting. We are not in an ice age anymore. Why can't these idiots realize this. Do they really think the ice should stay at the same level it was 200 years ago? Constant change is what it should be called. Volcanos put more crap and ash in the air then we do with cars and snowmobiles. Why don't these greenies try to plug up these vocanoes? That would help stop global warming. LOL

I feel for all those involved in the disaster.

However, 50 years ago say 10,000 people died in the same type of event as now and say 50,000 people die this time. It is because of Global warming. No it's the same thing that happend 50 years ago but there are more freaking people now to be effected so it seems worse then it was 50 years ago.
