Airoh Helmets

Has anyone on here had much experience with them? They appear to be the lightest helmet on the market 980g. The only one I've seen on a snowmobiler is Jorli. Thanks for any feedback

Never heard of them...

Do you mean Arai Helmets? If so, they are very light, very expensive, and very high quality - I wore them for years racing MX.

Airoh

I use one for harescrambles, by far the lightest helmet I have worn. Two others in our riding group have since bought new ones also, I spent around $525. for mine.

Great helmet, had mine since ~2007-2008.
Very light, very comfy interior, very popular among enduro riders because it's light weight.
Mine is an Stealth, don't Believe it's available any more, tried the new models a couple of weeks ago, Aviator and Terminator, and if i ever buy a new helmet it's going to be Another Airoh, i tried several other well known helmets (FXR, Fly, Arai, Shoei, HJC (to bad no one here sell Klim helmets)) and for me Airoh is the most comfy, and lightest.
Try one Before you buy, and your hooked.

I have an Airoh Aviator. It's very light and comfy. Rode with it for 2 years now. Only thing I don't like about it is the visor. It's too brittle and the cold makes it worse. I've broke 3 of them now and it's a PITA to order them, expensive too. Wish the visor was plastic. I've fixed all mine back up with E6000 glue so they can still be used.

I haven't had the visor issue, and love my Airoh. I'll keep an eye out for the visor problem tho. Dirt and snow, love the lid. My problem is leaving it behind and wearing another one of my awesome helmets! I would buy another Aviator in a heartbeat.

There probably isn't much need for me to respond, but I absolutely love these helmets. They've pretty well ruined me in that I would have a really hard using anything else. Its by far the most comfortable lid I've put on my head and they are super light and breathable. I highly recommend them, you won't go back to anything else. I don't know how a helmet could get much better than the Aviator. I haven't broken any visors, but I've managed to keep my head away from the bars.

You guys are lucky then. I had a buddy literally break one of my visors in the truck on the way up just moving my helmet. I've never broken a plastic visor before. The weight savings on the visor is minor. Took me 4 months to get replacements from backorder. Still would rather break visors and repair them then ride with any other helmet.

They are extremely popular in motocross on the European curcuit, the GPs. Seems like every rider and their brother wears one down there. They are awesome helmets and very strong you cant go wrong with one.

Their Fighter carbon helmet is only 850 grams (It's a DH helmet, not DOT) .. but for sledding I'm ok with rocking a proper DH lid

too bad you end up paying a buck a gram for that one ! lol

My xl is a shade tight. I normally wear a xl, except the first f4 klim helmets, I had to get xxl. Hope it works because it is the biggest they have. It pushes a little on the cheekbones and kind of makes me feel like the joker. Hope it loosens up just a little and then it will be fine. Not sure on wearing a face sock yet. Extremely lightens your head and pocket book.

Just got mine.

Initial impression= wow is it light

Like Terry mentioned, it feels a little snug on my cheek bones...but overall has a nice feel and fit.

Ordered it here... http://www.airohamerica.com/

509 Aviators fit well with this helmet.
