So I've been reading some mixed reviews about the aftermarket airbox's for the M8's. It sounds like in some cases people are actually seeing a power loss, bog issues etc. Also talking to some pretty reputable builders, most of the suggestions are not to try it.
So my question is why is there nothing better than the stock intake? Why can't it be modded in any way without a compromise in power? I mean a few years ago intake was one of the first things to mod on a sled. And in the performance world of anything, intake is usually upgradeable.
Then are these "issues" that people are seeing related to possibly not running fuel management.
My thinking on the aftermarket intake (M8) is: "I don't care if it gives me anymore HP, certainly I don't want a loss in HP, the weight loss is the big deal to me"
So I guess the shortest way to ask it is: why are people seeing a loss in performance with aftermarket airbox's?
I realize some are doing fine with them.
Thanks
