I have a o5 efi king cat 900. i was wondering if air filter pods will work on it

Should work but, you will have to find a mount the air temp sensor. IMO you would be loosing by doing this. Just gut your stock air box. That way you are still getting mostly cold outside air instead of hot under hood air.

I'd like to do this also, the air box boot rubs on my forward post.

Why do you think you lose by doing this?

i have a slp air box lid and gutted the rest. i was wondering if it would be a improvement. i am also running a lite wieght hood vented to high heaven.

The reason i say you would be losing hp. The stock air box draws most of its air from outside of the hood. If you switch to pods you will be sucking HOT air from under your hood. Colder air = more hp. Also depending on what pods you run they are most likely more restrictive then the stock air box that has NO restriction (filter).
