air box removal and reinstallation

Sliding the fuel tank back is the easiest but not needed. It is a little difficult to wiggle the air box in and out with it in place.

Before you pick up a tool. Start screaming. Grab a tool now. Remove the clutch cover. and oil tank makes life a lot easier. can be done with the tank still on just a bit tighter. remove top piece gonna be a pita to get out but can be done. then work on the bottom. Lube up the boots before you go to slide them back on.

I've had my top half off a half dozen times, never moved the gas tank, or had to disconnect the oil tank for the top half. Belt, secondary off of course. Removed the oil tank from the clutch cover, remove the clutch cover from the sled (gotta disconnect the ECM, etc.), and then hang the oil tank with a wire or tie raps so there is no pressure on the line. The rest is just gymnastics. Takes me maybe 15 minutes from the time I start pulling the belt until I've got the horns out. I did not remove the bottom half from the throttle bodies, so can't comment from experience there.
