Air-Box Mods for XP?

I love my XP, but, in deep powder it's ALWAYS bogging. I always try to wipe down the vents and airbox but within another 10 feet it clogs up and bogs again. What do I do? Is there anybody that makes a better kit? Perhaps a Timbersled intake kit? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks!

This is what I used when flow rites weren't available

My fix for this was, to buy a left side air intake screen for a M/8, M1000. I removed the upper air box from my 08' xp and made a template of the intake screen and layed out a pattern to trace around on the topside of air box, then cut it with a utility knife and cleaned up with a file. Then just snap it in. I choose to modify the upper air box because the DPM takes its reading from lower box. It would have been easier to remove, but it won't alter what the sensor is reading.

Flow-rite's in either the back of the airbox or in the plenum under the headlight will cure it.

Heard the '09's have extra spring loaded relief valve in air box to allow for more air if outer screen gets clogged in deep snow. 08's just have the one small one on u/s.

Anyone know if the 09 box will fit an 08?

I put the flo rights under the insterment cluster not the head light they dont fit under the head light.I think this is best because of the before mentioned sensor in the lower air box.Make shure you use the ones with the rubber gromet.I have heard of guys having problems with the plastic snap in ones. The retaing ear brakes off and causes engine damage when it goes through, and gess who pays.
Just my thoughts.

I done the same thing. Worked good. No problems!!

Thanks for all the info guys. I'm having the same issue in the real deep stuff. What is the story on warranty if you install flo-rites in the airbox? Would someone mind posting a picture of this?

I think the warrenty depends on the dealer. If he likes you, he'll warrenty it, if not, your SOL! I'd be careful of the flowrites in the airbox, as 1 buddy did that, and it got sucked into the carb. I just cut 1" holes, and covered it with SLP material. So far so good.

Screen kit

This screen kit works very well, without cutting holes in your sled. It can be removed when not in deep snow. All you need is to get some good velcro, and this teflon type fine screen. Velcro around the intake & make the same size screen to go over the top of the intake. You must sew the velcro onto the screen. Here are some pics... It doesn't look as bad as the pic's make it look. The snow just slides off.

...have your dealer install....I did, for the same reasons, and haven't had any problems, or issues...

Airbox fix

I took a peice of SLP prefilter and cut it to shape around the factory and glued in place, fits a little loose, when your on the gas it sucks in, when you get off it expands back out and cleans the snow off with the flex of the filter, no touchy, and for $20 cheap too. Not one more problem, several freinds have done same with no issues...
