Air bags

I have Ride Rite and there HD compressor. I mounted it inside the cab just bc I thought it would be safer in there. Also its not like you Airing it up all the time, and even if you are the compressor is a little humming noise. Also it fits perfect under my rear seat in my 08 duramax Crew Cab.

But this requires that you drill holes in your cab correct?

I have the same truck (2011 Denali HD). I mounted the Firestone wireless controller/compressor on top of the fuse box under the hood. Do it just right and there is no rubbing on the hood. It's easy to wire here because you can tap right into the fuse panel. There is even a IGN tap for one of the wires. Let me know if you need pictures. Works well. You don't hear it unless you are airing up your bags. It's not like they leak.

Pics would be awesome. Think I'm going to follow your path on this since we have the same truck.

I drilled one single hole for the air line under the rear seat. It's not nearly as bad as it sounds.

On my 09 2500 HD Chevy I mounted the compressor and wireless control unit where the extra battery would go. Not impressed with the firestone wireless unit as it does not read the correct pressures, but it still beats dragging out the air compressor everytime you need to fill them up.

i had the SAME problems with mine. when the display would read 5 psi, the rear of my pickup was jacked up in the air between 1-2 inches. i did some research online and found out that at 5-10 psi, the rear should not hardly move, even on a half ton with lighter frame, suspension, ect... so i installed "T"s in the air line with small pressure gauges and pressured them up. when the hand held remote showed 5, they were actually at approx 30 psi. i took a video of it all happening, contacted firestone's tech department, and emailed them the video. they pretty much sent me everything brand new except the comrpessor. and this was 2+ years after having the kit! it had no warranty at all anymore. they were great to deal with, it didnt cost me a dime, and it works good now. the actual line pressure is within 3-4 psi of what the remote shows. i'd think it could still be closer, but i guess its pretty close...

that being said, i have ready alot better things about the air lift kit. i read up on camper forums alot during the summer, and not many people like the firestone kit in comparison to the air lift. if i had to start over from square one, i would probably get the other one. but for now ill keep swapping my firestone kit from vehicle to vehicle
