Air bags, Suburban

So I have a 2005 1/2 ton Suburban. It's "old" but I love it. So anybody who owns one knows that they are sprung very lightly in the rear. I would like to add air bags to help level off the truck when the trailer is hooked. Has anybody done this? At my work we dabble with the Firestone air bags so I might be able to score a pair affordably and put the system together their.

Air Bags

I had a 2004 Z71 until last spring. I used the firestone and ran the air line Schrader valve to the license plate area on the bumper.


Pretty much ran 20 psi all of the time. Very effective to level the rig out with bumper pull trailer and gear in the back.


Was pretty disappointed first time I hooked up and looked from a ways off to see the non parallel intersection at the bumper from the truck squatting.

i say do it. honestly, i will not own a towing vehicle without them.

Meant after purchasing the vehicle and hooking up the trailer for the first time, then realizing I had a problem, the solution being the air bags. Sorry for the confusion.
