Aftermarket Silencer

I know there are alot of after market silencers out there, but you hear people saying they use this one and that one. i have used MBRP and liked them, but wanted to hear what people liked with the product line they use. I am also interested in how "The Thing" is, might want to try something new. Thanks.

cans

i have heard only good things obout the thing. a can is a good way to loose a chunk of unnecessary weight, but the cans that are real loud could do damage to your motor due to the lack of packing. i had a dyno port last year sounded stock at idle but i still got compliments of the sound when i sidehilled over some people. i had mbrp on my zx 600 sounded nice when i was younger, kind of loud for no reason. i have slp triples on my xlt very unnecessary noise levels. i have psi triples on my 809 pretty quiet for triples. nothing beats the sound of full pipes in my opinion

I run the "Thing" on my REV and I love it.
It does get rid of a ton of weight but as far as power improvement goes it really does nothing.
None of the cans out there really do anything for increasing HP but you think it does because of the sound!
It will turn you into a throttle "Blipper" ! :D

The throttle response IS improved but only a little bit.

Ya, im not looking to gain any power from a can. But i want one that will maintain the stock power, but not be annoying in sound. i really like the MBRP, but just want to hear what other guys have used and what they think.

choices

if your thinkin slp setup eventually, should probably start with their can. mixing and matching different brands maby isnt the best, they are built to work together to acheive optimum output. can save some dough that way anyway by not rebuying your can, or maby you can find a used one can the swapmeet?
