Affordable cover

I read a while back that there is a mountain horse cover made for timbersled by another company. I remember it being half the price from that company compared to timbersled. Can anybody tell me what that company is?

I called Yakima Tent a few weeks ago to try and buy direct. He said no, that they are made exclusively for Timbersled. Last year I did buy one from him, when Yakima Tent was advertising them. This years cover is totally redesigned and much better, in about every way. Material is heavier, tie down access is better, Has three zippers, etc. After the pain of spending $300 is over, you will probably be happy with the product. I would want to know about warranty though.

Timbersled Cover

The Timbersled cover is spendy but well worth it. It is really well designed with great material and tie downs.

I used my old turbo Nytro cover on my bike last weekend and it fit "almost" perfectly! The only problem was the front flapped around a bit but I am going to see on a strap on the front so I can tie it in the front.

I had the same happen on my cover. Strap worn through. and zipper rubbed spindle and is ground closed.:face-icon-small-fro

So some guys love these and others have had them shred? I would really like to buy a cover because my bike is going on a sled deck above the cab. Sleds get really salty being above the cab.... I can only assume bikes will be the same level of dirty after a 5 hour drive...

Both of my bikes where on a sled deck when covers tore up .maybe too much wind and turbulence up there ? But covers didn't last one trip

I think it would take a cover made of kriptonite to hold up to being on top of a sled deck for that many miles at highway speeds and maybe a headwind.

I've probably put on 30,000 or more KM with my sled on my deck with a Skidoo cover. I would expect even half that from a bike cover that's worth $300.00

Good point, I agree. That cover was probably canvas? Maybe the bike covers need to be made from canvas and have lots of bungee cords to take up slack.

It was just the regular old Skidoo XP cover. I lied i put 30,000 + km on 2 different covers. The first one I probably got 10,000 km out of but I hooked the clip around a sharp part of the skid, it ripped and flapped for probably 4 hours. Glue factory for that one. I have gotten smarter and the new one has lasted twice as long.

I would like to know what kind of material these covers are? This could be a good market for someone to make them if the TS ones are junk. Don't think this is rocket surgery to build a good cover.

My sons girlfriend is a seamstress. She is just about to buy a new industrial machine. We've been talking about doing some covers and selling them. What do you guys think the price point would need to be. She could bang off a cover in nothing flat, it'd be a piece of cake compared to a ball gown some of the fancy dresses she does. What type of material would guys want?

$$

dont know the material cost or how hard it is to work with but a heavy rubberized canvas like a whitewater raft drybag seems like it would last really well.
