Af gage

I got a 07 twisted m1000 that I just got been looking around and trying to see if I should put EGt gage on it or just run the air fuel gage. Was told to run 12.2 on boost and 14.5 off boost does this sound rite I have no clue never ran a AF gage before but don't want to ride it and say boy sure wish I had some Egt's to go buy. Are those the only #'s I need to go buy any input would be great. Thanks in advance.

Thanks that is what I was told. now should I leave it at 10 Lb or turn it down to 6 lb so I can run pump gas.

I run both, EGT is insurance on all the cash you put into your sled. When I ride up the trail into the alpine I always add fuel on my second circuit to bring down my temps. You don’t see the heat with the AF gauge. When you’re riding around (not at wot) your Af is all over the place and you can be building heat with minimal load. When I am boondocking at around 5000rpm Af is 14 -15 and egt’s are way up – as you adjust and blip the throttle you can bring down the temps, I wouldn’t run a turbo without one. Gets more crucial as you turn up the boost!

AF vs. EGT = EGT's win!!

I've always tried to run my AF #'s especially wot around 11.5, not always the case sometimes it's more like 12.4 Cruising the trails it's around 13.7 or so, but EGT's are a way more effective tool. The thing I don't like about the AF's is they bounce around so much and only seem to give you accurate #'s when your wide open pulling a hill, but I guess that's the most important one to watch anyways. Other than that, remember to be in and out of the throttle in order to keep your temps down.

Thanks for the info I guess I will see what happens hopefully nothing and it will run like a top.

at that elevation I would say you need to run some good fuel av gas I was told 6 lb of boost and 91 octane above 4,500 feet then add some more octane if lower than that.

just buy this and be done with it.

it draws no more then 3 amps is very stable reading and is way more accurate then an egt. and it is water resistant so it can be mounted almost anywhere on your sled.

I'm running this AFR and really like it i previously had the Innovate DB with the Lc-1 and it worked great also but this one is super easy to install.

Also i would HIGHLY recomend a EGT, it is simply extra insurance. Compaired to the cost of a Sled+Turbo an EGT is nothing.

I am running the KOSO with fast probes in mine and love it.... riding scared/ nevous sucks
