Hey all...

We use our Motorhome all winter towing the sleds to various snowparks...

I need to put new tires on it, & I was looking for some advice on good winter tires...

245/70R19.5

I'd like a good traction tire on all six spots, as steering is very important too..!!..

Thanks...

Try Les Schwab

What ever you decide, don.t buy cheap! We had lesser brand on ours when we bought it and now have good-years. The set that we had on were like driving on rubber balls,, real bad in the wind, with the good-years whole different feel...

Even as a life long customer of Les Schwab I wouldn't go there for 19.5's. For the best tread selection in this tire your WAY better off at Phelps Tire & there is one around your area. I would also stick with a Michelin brand tire/casing cause they're better built. Michelin will cost you more money in the beginning but will be better off in the long run. I've gotten twice the miles out of my dump truck tires since switching to Phelps/Michelin.
Here is a pic of the 19.5's I run on my dodge 3/4 ton, awesome traction but I won't lie they do pick up alot of rocks.

We have some 19.5 Toyo's on our ambulances and they suck. Les Schwab can't seem to get them balanced (many tries) and mushy as hell. JMO.

Can't agree more. I manage a fleet of about 35 fire department front line response vehicles (65 vehicles overall) that respond in all types of weather. I live on the coast in Sequim but our response area requires us to drive from sea level to over 3500'.
For our application, Les Schwabb's Toyo's do not work well at all in 19.5's. We do run them on a few of our staff vehicles that are 17's. We now run Goodyear G622 RSD's. They are holding up very well and provide great traction in the snow and ice. We run them on a few vehicles year round and they seem to do good as an all-season tire.
We have been running them on our F550 4X4 (weighs about 14,000) shop truck for about 3 years now and have not had to use tire chains since running them. Toyo's we chained up often.
There's not a lot of good options for 19.5's. Good luck! Hope this helps!

Hmm...interesting reports on the toyos. I for one prefer the Toyo m55. Has always done well for my uses. I would stay away from the Continentals. Barely got 16k out of the set than came on my f550 service truck. 19k -21k lbs

reactions here are kinda strange. I run Toyo AT and I've pushed 14" of snow pulling a 3 place trailer with 3 big sleds and never chained up and didn't spin a bit. I guess if I think these tires are good maybe the others recommended would be remarkable.

Truck?

Are you talking truck tires? We're talking RV.......

If u can get studded tires that big I would if not good years or Michelin's we have had good luck with them on our dump trucks

advise on tires

Forget about the other tire stores, call me for your tire needs, I own Warren Secord Automotive & Tire Factory in down town kent, there is lots of tire knowledge here since we have been around for almost 50 years, have many tire lines to choose from, even though 19.5 tires don't have as many choices as our trucks, I can be reached during the week @ 253-852-1492, or on my cell anytime @ 253-297-0153, ask for Bill, ps. I haul some heavy a$$ yamahas to the hills when we finally get snow so I know about needing traction to get there, see ya on the hill
