I have a very good friend coming in to town tonight and he can ride only tomorrow (Tuesday). He is a very good rider, likes hills (nothing steep or avy terrain), meadows, trees, good snow of course. Has all the avy gear including avy vest. Snotel does not look very good, in fact, quite disappointing with what the expectations were for this storm. Any suggestions - Tower area, No Slope, Sanpete Co, Monte, Logan? Obviously would like a good, safe base (he will be riding my spare sled!) and some snow that is not all tracked up. PM me if you don't want to publicize.

Thanks in advance,
Larry

despite snotel readings, reports are between 16-24" of powder in western uintas. Daniels summit got smacked pretty good too as reports of deep pow came in from that direction. Id try knobblets tomorrow if it were me :)

Despite the SnoTel reports, there was at least 12" of fresh up by Tower. More in some of the draws / north facing stuff -- I'd say closer to "24
We got snowed out about 2:00PM yesterday, so we left a lot of nice spots and it was coming down pretty good.

I am with Phatty on this one, noblets up into the soapstone are was awesome on Saturday. Stay in or near the trees and it gets deep.

I was going to suggest Monte but travel time and riding time one would ride the Soapstone area. Have fun.

I went to Monte today and it wasn't bad if you found some untouched areas. We did some exploring and found some sweet snow but you have to go searching for it.

Storm hit from the south so I would hit dry fork side of AF, South side of Snake Creek or area south and west of Tower mtn. I'd say 2' pretty safe bet in those spots

Thanks for the info fellas. Just got home, had a really good day. Brad will send pics and videos once he gets back home. We found some good, untouched powder in quite a few places, had our usual stucks and a hell of a lot of great, fun riding. Went from Timberlakes to Tower, found some good pockets along the way, south and east of Tower, then back to the north. Found some new areas as well. My good friend was ecstatic with the day and the Pros ran flawlessly - again, thanks.
