Adventures in Baja with Fordman and MOB...the real story revealed part 1

Well, we're back from the Baja 500 where we ate a bunch of pork tacos, drove the truck on a short course, raced through the streets of Ensenada and visited the local doctors. We did find out some interesting tidbits from the locals. First off, diesel was 2.36 a gallon. Super unleaded was 1.93.

The trip schedule was this.... Get to the hotel on Thursday, ride on Friday, watch the race on Saturday, ride on Sunday and head for California on Monday.

Friday started out pretty good and then turned ugly when MOB decided to check out the local barbed wire fencing techniques. These pictures were taken after the fact. MOB can elaborate on this story.

Which in turn caused this to his elbow

Which made us go to the doctor in a little town called Ojos Negros. When we got there, the doctor was out so a random woman decided she could handle the job of cleaning the wound.

She said to come back tomorrow and the doctor would be in the office to check the wound again...total cost: 40 bucks

Now it's off to watch the race on Saturday. The great thing about Mexico is that there are really no laws or rules. We parked at mile 38 on the race course and stood next to the cars as they came by.

Ojos Negros is a sweet place to stop, had a good meal there when I was in Mexico. Though nothing beats the taco shop on the right hand side on your way out of Ensenada.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that. Some guys I was down there with got into some trouble with the military because they were thinking that way. A different guy from up here in Wyoming was down there thinking the whole no laws or rules thing, he wound up coming home paralized.

During the race festivities the cops will not arrest you for anything less than murder.... Now, once the race is over with then all that changes.

Riding wheelies down main street in front of the cops as they shoot radar at you and they don't do anything....

We had cops and military guys signaling for us to do wheelies when I was down there. Still not exactly sure what the guys that got in a bind actually did to get there.

Its been a few years since I was down, but have been wanting to go back ever since.

Medical Attention For That!!!!!

Your killing me, don't tell us snowesters they put a courtesy stitch in that for ya'. We want to see bones poking through skin compound style!!!!!

LOL...it's not about the size of the cut, it's about cleaning what was in there out...large puddle crossing (farmland) shortly after. No thanks for infections. no stitches, although you can't tell from the pic...it could have used them...once the swelling went down you could see right in there...bursa, tendon, pretty cool...synovial fluid leakage.
