On my first ride, it hit Det after I hit high R's on the trail, so it was probably hitting the rev limiter. Yesterday, it hit Det when I was going across a meadow at 6000 rpm. Really surprised me. Checked the code read-out(neat feature) and it showed 1352 & 0 which is Max Det Correction Limit Reached for Knock Level Cylinder 1(MAG). Got back on the trail and grabbed a handfull and it did it again. Code read-out read 1353 & 0 which is the Knock Level Cylinder 2(PTO). Did it one more time(high R's) and then I took it easy back to the truck.
I'm still thinking I may have too much oil(1 oz/gal of fuel) in the tank. On the first ride, the dealer had added a qt. of Poo blue to the gas tank with 3 gals of gas. I did not fill up the tank, so I was running a pretty rich pre-mix. Ran OK for 10 miles, then starting hitting DET when I gave the flipper a good hit. Put 30 miles on it that day. Next ride, I put straight 91 in the tank(no added oil) and it ran perfect. At 100 miles, I cranked up the oil pump and have been adding 1 oz/ gal to the gas. 3 rides with that combo, no problems. Then yesterday, DET shows up again.
Going to add straight 91 again and see what happens Wed. or Thurs. If it clears up, then I just might start adding 1/2 oz/ gal. BTW, my pump ratio is now at approx. 40-1. Beats the hell out of the 75-1 before the adjustment.
I'll keep an eye on the R's and the clutching. I've always runs 62's around here and never had a problem. My '11 Pro ran flawless with 62's, but it was a 163 compared to the 155 on my '13. Thanks for your advice. We'll see what happens on the next go-round
Hey Z! All the guys I ride with 12's and 1 13, all have the pump turned up 3 turns (I turned them up) and are running 1 oz of oil per gallon in the tank. No det issues at all. With the exception of the 13, the others are all 12's and bone stock.
