What is the best/easiest way to adjust oil pump on '09 RMK, seems like it would be a bit(h to get to from the top, removing air box doesnt look fun either. tips? thanks!
 
I am assuming this is an 800, if so you need to remove the airbox and throttle bodies and it is still a bit(h. I used a mirror to see the marks in order to line them up. It also makes it hard because they put loctite on the adjuster nuts on the cable housing that lock it down.

I posted a pic of my oil pump when I had the motor out.

For reference, my D7 was 37:1, stock

1 1/4 to 1 1/2 turns on the 10mm nuts and it's 57:1 and I'm comfortable with that.

So only a little over ONE FULL TURN affected the ratio by 20 points

polaris makes a special set of wrenches for adjusting the pump..much easier with the wrenches....
 
I am having a problem with my sled burning too much oil. could my pump be out of tolerance? I got a lot of blue smoke after i put my twins on.
 
Mine was using too much oil as well. To adjust the oil pump I removed the air box, throttle bodies, primary clutch and torque stop bracket. Using a small mechanics mirror and wrench I was able to adjust the pump with very little difficulty. Standard tools work just fine.
