Adjusting belt height 07 800r at the secondary.

Is it me or when I loosen those 3 bolts on the secondary and spin the adjustment dial from 3-6 I dont see the ride height of belt change alot? Looks like I have 2 belts sitting quit low when at the 6 mark. Guess they are worn out?

Yes after changing belts and settings I run the sled so that it can reset.

Belt height

I found even with new 0166 belts they were to skinny and had to start with adjuster at 4-6, switched to a 0377 and now I am down at 1-2 on the adjuster plus I have 350 miles on the 377 and it still looks like new. This is on an 07 800r.

secondary adjustment

You guys need to pull one of the 2 shims from between the secondary sheaves out. This will allow you to start at position 1 with the proper belt height even with the stock 166 belt.

Yep, if there are two shims then lose one of them. allows the sheaves to close farther together forcing the belt up.

Only the one shim in mine the belts were to skinny only 1 3/8 wide from new earlier 0166 were close to 1.5 inches.
