I would like an easily adjusted weight setup, that can mimic the 10 series weight (profile and weight distribution), while still being able to cover a wide range of total weight.

My experience with cutler and daltons in the past with the set screws always left me less than impressed. Id be ok if I had to remove clutch cover to change magnets or whatever in the field.

Any suggestions? I really don't want to get into different weight profiles, or clutch shimming.

I'm trying Indydans this year. Hoping to get on the snow in a week or two to start dialing them in.

Preliminary feedback from those who've put some miles on is they are a little aggressive in the initial shift. For the tight trees here in the northeast that may be a good thing....we'll see.

Word is they're working on a little less aggressive profile.

The team rooster adjustable weights is a 10 series profile when empty/loaded evenly

Adjustable weights are only good if you can change up for snow conditions or altitude. This only leaves the weights with set screws or magnets in my opinion.

The Dalton QAP-1 series with the heel loaded has worked well for my 14 and 15.

I see Rapid Response weights for Arctic cat use magnets but i see none for Polaris in my catalog??

I run dalton adjustables in both my flatland and mountain sleds, work great.

I have switched back and forth from the daltons to the 10-series and never noticed any difference, what did you not like about the daltons?

I'm running the Cutler weights. I've been switching back and forth between OEM weights and right now have the cutlers back in. They are the same profile as series 10. I keep the tip fully loaded and play with the set screws to adjust for snow conditions. Pretty sweet to adjust them on the hill in 3-4 minutes. Eric

Slp and Mds weights

I am currently running MDS weights with the SLP pipe and can. I personally like the ability to move the weight around in the shift curve. The engagement is nice and smooth and they are infinitely adjustable for people who are particular about their clutching. Good support as well. http://www.mdsclutching.com/

Mind sharing your clutching set up with your SLP pipe and MDS weights? Change springs?

SLP Pipe MDS setup

I have a 163 2.6 weight 230 in gear. Riding 5-7000 ft. My base weight is 59.8 gr. Stock secondary stock primary spring. I started with hex bolt ad 1 washer in the mid 5.7 gr. and the drilled bolt and one washer in the tip 3.3 gr for a total of 68.8 gr. I was revving 8250 or so. (to low). It was also slow to rev. his engine does not like a lot of weight in the mid area. My new setup is 59.8 base. In the mid, the drilled bolt non hex and 1 washer 3.3 gr. and the non hex Allen bolt and 2 washers in the tip. 4.8 gr. for a total of 67.9 gr. This setup revs instantly like the stock clutching and settles in at around 84-8500. I have now run 5 days with different clutching setups and have realized this motor loves 84-8500 rpm. At 82-8300 the sled feels more like my 15 Pro RMK TD 163. I hope this helps.

I like the fact that I can adjust for conditions and can have almost 1/4" of the set screws hanging out the heel of the weights to give them good grunt in the low to mid range. Easy to adjust without opening up the clutch. Down side is I have 4 set screws in each weight so to adjust requires removing the first 3 set screws to get at the one nearest the tip of the weight. I do believe the optional heavy screw set (3 times the weight I believe) would be a good thing so I could get away with 1 or 2 instead of 4. But the price is high for that option, about $100.

The Bikeman goldstars.

I have been using them for years love them. I put a pipe on my axys with the controller and still throwing weight at it to get the rpms down. Runs great.
