Adjustable weights, info source?

It's come to the point in tuning my SLP stage 3 on my 13 pro 800 where common weights just are not getting the job done

I've tried 10 series and 11 series in a variety of weights. I either rev too high or just don't quite make it to the point I'm trying to reach. (Aiming for 8300-8350 unloaded).

Before I dive into a set of adjustable weights, ill be the first to admit I know nothing of the theory behind them. Ie a 3 hole design vs a 4 hole, how adding or subtracting weight in the different locations will affect me and so on

I have thought of starting to custom shave my existing weights, but at the same time it will end up costing a bunch of money anyways to "learn" that as well

My searches so far haven't turned up much useable info on adjustable weights, does anyone have a good source or some time to walk me through the basics?

I use dalton adjustables, no multi-holes to mess with just different length setscews in one hole. I think they work just fine but have never used the multi-hole designs.

Running Tri-City Polaris right now, a little more heel weight. Prefer heel clickers though

Why not use SLP's MTX weights set up for that kit and your altitude??? They've done most of the work for you already.

Well I am aware of this, I still would like to know the theory behind what I am working with. How they come set may not change a thing from what I'm already trying to tune away from, or be worse set up. Then I am still in the same position and have just spent more money. Then what?

Also because I do make a few high altitude trips per year, I'd like to know how to set for that in advance
