Adding longer lugged track to Apex

Has anyone put a longer lugged track on a 07' Apex with 136" 1.25 track? We ride up in the U.P. as well as out west and would like to be able to switch out the tracks rather than buy another sled if possible.

I simply can't put a longer lugged track on as there's not enough clearance in the tunnel.

Suggestions?

If you dont run studs then you can remove the tunnel & cooler protecters for more lug clearance

you can run an unstudded 1.5" without any changes.
You can notch a 1.75" around tunnel protectors.
Remove tunnel protectors for a 2"


The LTX is known to have ratcheting problems with the taller lug tracks. You could switch to an 8 tooth anti-slip driver which would give 3/8" more clearence between the driver and heat exchanger.

Other option is to move the skid mounting points down a 1/2" to 3/4" and set the skid back3.5"- 4" to convert to a 144" track. this allows for a better approach angle from the drivers to the front of the skid and allows the Apex to climb on top of snow as apposed to digging in.

In addition to the track get a pr of Powder ski.
