Adding Grip Heaters + Light Bar on 08 RMZ450?

Can I add both on the RMZ 450? Or, would I be better getting some battery heated gloves instead? Recommendations please.

Just picked up my first snow bike and would like to see if that bike can handle the load of both.

some will tell you to go for it... I'd say no. Not without an upgraded stator and possibly larger battery. I have an ktm exc 500 with heated grips.. I have a switch to turn off the light to save power and this past weekend trying to get down some steep stuff and crashing alot in the sloppy mush I had the battery die with just the grips on after about 40 min. Luckily my bike has the optional kick starter... started first kick!

You have other issues. or the wrong setup. a KTM 500 has a lot of electrical power, Far more than any other EFI bike. plenty of power available for the right combo of grips and lights.

Nah. You're missing what happened.. yes the 500 has a 200w stator and plenty of battery.. but crashing down the mountain in the tight trees and digging out for 40 minutes I had accidentally left the ame grips on... when I was finally ready to fire up, the battery turned it over slowly and was dying... Used the kick starter. So even with all that battery and power.. if you are not running the engine it aint gonna last long

Just about to install Oxford Grips on my 2014 KTM 500 EXC.

I have a baja desgins LED headlight.. and Cyclopys HID on my helmet with batteries when I need it.

The question I have is, is there a way I can install my grip heaters so they only work when the ignition key is on? rather than wiring it straight to the battery with a fuse? Maybe it wont help much but it could help me not get a dead battery if I remember to turn the key off.

EDIT: In the demo snowbike ride I did, the battery died twice on the 501 husky... so glad it had a kicker.. one kick and was up and running. You gotta be crazy to run a bike with no kicker in my opinion.
