After many vario zip ons i'm still not happy with one sadly . The problems are no out side shovel and beat up goggles . Some of the smaller packs address one or the other of these but not both . I would really Love the SB 25 but they dont make it any more :face-icon-small-dis
So I'm now looking at the dakine zip one and the evoc zip on. has any one used either of these ? Or maybe some one has an SB 25 some place

rockymountian used to make a 22lt zip on pack, not bad i still did some mod's to it but its better that my30 or 15lt

ABS released a zip on Vario shell that had the exterior shovel pouch. See it here or here are the pics of the snowmobiler shells that are available for $89.

There was also a prototype of the snowmobiler shell for the smaller powder version, probably available later this year.

Right now I have the RMX 22 bag . Its packed all the time it seems like and beats up my goggles really bad .
Normally i ride with
Helmet light
2 extra pairs of gloves
bag lunch
2 Bottles of water
Buck knife
Tree saw , folding sos
Full probe
shovel .
small cruz tool kit
with all that in there its FULL to the brim . just worried that the sb 15 wouldn't be enough room . a 25 would be prime . the evoc bag looks very nice . maybe take it to a tailor and have a shovel pocket added

look into getting a bag for you tunnel or stashing stuff various other places on your sled so that the 15 IS big enough and it takes a MAJOR load off your back!! I have a tunnel bag, bring a dry bag for wrapping my coat in when I want to take it off and I just cinch that down on top of my tunnel bag. then goggles and/or gloves go under the hood in a vented bag and I have a really small handle bar bag to put my quick access items in. I wore the freeride last year and it was SOOOO nice to have such little weight on my back! This year I'm stepping into the vario frame but still going to run the smaller zip ons cause I got spoiled with having less weight on my back!
