ABS Vario vs Escape line

Has anyone been riding with the new Vario line of the ABS backpacks? Anyone know the differences other than being able to switch backpack sizes?

And the Vario's come with the new airbag design.

What does Hydrobag compatible mean? And can the Vario 15 carry a hydrobag?

Trying to decide between the two lines, swinging towards the vario but wondering between the models Vario 15 and the Vario Ultralight 18.

Thanks for input ahead time.

The Vario pack has a longer torso than the escape line, and in my opinion, is a more comfortable pack to wear.

The airbag design on the Vario is the same as the Escape 15 and Escape 30. It has 170L of airbag volume. The escape Freeride has 150L airbag volume.

The vario has an access hole in the pack to allow you to route a hydrobag (camelback) through to you.

The ultralight pack has one main zipper pouch to load your gear from the top and the material is a lighter-weight material than the 15. However, the overall storage space of the ultralight is 18L of storage. The 15 has two compartments to store your gear in.
If you are really rough on packs, the 15L pack will last longer because the material is thicker and can stand to take more abuse.

If your a big dude the vario is much more adjustable comfortable. I like how you can swap out storage bags for 125 bux too. I have the free ride bag and the 22 liter bag if i need more stuff. sj
