We have received several phone calls and emails about the ABS canister recall, so we thought we should post up the information we know. This shouldn't be an issue for US Airbag cansiters, because most of them are yellow.
ABS has issued a recall on Black ABS Canisters that were filled between September 2008 and April 2010. The date the canister was filled is noted on the white sticker on the canister next to the weight. If you have one of these canisters you can send the canister to ABS or to http://www.snowbigdeal.com and we will exchange your canister for free. Please send your canister prior to January 31, 2012 for the free exchange.
The reason for the recall is because there is a slight chance that the canisters may have had two burst discs on the canister instead of one. This could cause the airbag not to deploy.
The airbags themselves are not affected. Only the black canisters.
