NEW!!! ? about my Triton trailer

Hey everyone, I have a 2004 Triton XTD 11-101 open trailer, and after unloading my friends sled this weekend, I noticed that the right hand ski-clamp nut has been stripped out, so the clamp will not hold tight.

My question is, in order to replace the "nut" underneath, How do you do it? do you have to take off the plywood deck, or is there another way?

Thanks for your help :beer;

It's a piece of cake.
You can get a replacement for about 5 bucks from a triton dealer.
If you look closely at the top you will see a (darn, I just forgot the name of the thing) clamp ring that holds it in place. Remove the ring and the whole thing falls out the bottom. You may need to trim the wood a bit to get to the ring.
Takes about 5 minutes to replace.
I carry a spare just in case.

Hey, Thanks a lot:beer;:beer;:beer;

I couldn't see the top too well because there is a bit of old grease in there, I guess I will have to take a closer look tomorrow:D

You may get lucky by running a tap through there to clean up the threads a bit. I'm sure it won't last for ever that way but it may get you through the winter?

Happened on the Floe trailers as well when they used that nut style deal.

Thank heavens for the track style ones today.

Another problem

I stopped in to the local Triton dealer today, but they do not have them in stock, and he said that the best bet to get it soon and without a big mark-up would be to order it off the internet.

Does anybody know a good site that I can look at to get it quickly?

Thanks

BTW, I was thinking just for the moment to simply get a large wing nut that I can put on and tighten down when the bed is tilted... But I obvoiusly want to fix it properly, so here I am again.

Does that nut sit in a channel under the decking that is visible from the bottom side?

I think you may be able to try Dennis Kirk, Shadetree or something along those lines, even try a Floe dealer and so on. I think there is a nut welded to a plate that you could slip in the channel and rivet it from the bottom side to the channel and at least get you by.

Also you could do the tie down strap thing on front and rear of the sled? See that done many of times.
