About how many miles can a person expect out of a QD belt?

Or is it best to pro-actively replace after so many miles? The owner's manual (don't take away my man card as I only glanced in the owner's manual) claims replace the QD belt after 2,000 miles. But it also says the same for the belt!

Would be nice to hear that the qd belts are making 2k miles. It would also be nice if the mountains receive a foot of snow about every 3rd night for the next 4 months!

Seems like it's hit and miss with who has had issues with the quick drive belt and not. I've got over a 1,000 miles on mine with no signs of major wear, but I've been wondering the same thing on whether I should just replace it.

The guys that used to break chains will have a tough time with the qd belts. The rest not so much. Ie. One of my riding buddies had a 13 last year. Rode all winter on the original belt til the hillclimbs come spring time. During the course of 2 days of racing he took out 3 belts after 1k miles of no issues. There is a reason the "race" sled has a chaincase. If you are a boondocker and mountian rider I doubt you will have much problem with the QD belt. The big air guys and racers, that's a different story.

totally agree hit and miss i've got buddies with 500-1200 miles with no issues no proper break in done :face-icon-small-dis

I went through my first three QD belts in less than 250 miles and I have 200 ish miles on my 4th belt. And this was on a very mellow year with 1/2 to 1/3 of my normal miles and decidedly not ridden nearly as hard as my 11 was. But I am encouraged in the lack of issues that have come to light so far this year.

Pura..mellow? you? lol...have you ever spun up the track on a stand and watched for wobble in the pulleys ? just curious how smooth and true they looked...hoping the new stuff for 14 helps with the belt issues...

Mine went 1,600 miles no issues. It is now my back up belt and I threw a 14 belt in. Peace of mind. :face-icon-small-hap

Surprised they are still selling the old 13 belts (it has its own stock number compared to a 14 belt), but they probably have to get rid of all the 13 stock before the 14 belt will replace the stock number. :noidea:
