was wondering what the stock size on the apex is. thinking about going to an 8 inch wheel. whats the advantage of running bigger wheels.

Big wheels work good to take up extra track length, other then that there is no performance gain. Eric

One of the theories is that becuse the track is being bent less (larger diameter bend) that it's more efficient therefore more hp to the ground. I don't know if it's true or not.

I've also heard it can mess with your track tension; depending on your suspension geometry large rear idles tighten your track as the suspension compresses. I find it hard to believe this would be an issue on a sled running extroverts and a minimum amount of coupling (wieght shifting back as you accellerate). I would think this changes your suspension geometry more than large rear idler!

Cheap way to bling the sled - it's all about the bling!

Yes they do look cool, untill they are a big block of ice and start wearing into your track :O) Eric

the best gain from big wheels is the ability to reverse in deep snow. you can;t do **** with stock wheels but you can back up in waist deep pow with the 8's and 9's. this can be very handy at times

what is the stock size wheels in the stock apex mtn skid. i think the rears are 7". not positive need someone to clarify that.
