A.S.S. or AK Snowmachine Salvage - Done 4 now

Scott has sold the A.S.S. building... now the company name and remaining parts are for sale - as one huge package. Sucks bad, was a pretty unique company that served our community well. I might be forced into retirement, as i can't afford parts from AMDS or any dealership for that matter. Hopefully someone buys A.S.S....

Damn that sucks, I try to get most of my stuff there.Beats the heck out of driving all the way down town. Whats the package going to go for I wonder.

I wonder if the ATV Salvage Shop in Eagle River would be interested in picking up this business?

Hmm.. i don't know the price.

I don't know if Mr. Rupert would be interested or not. His shop only employs a person or two usually, snow salvage had like 2-3 counter/parts guys, and about 4-6 mechanics. They were always swamped too... wish i had some free cash laying around. I really hope someone takes over.

I nominate Mike to buy the place, he's got lots of spare time! :p

Can do..as long as shwee lends me your money..and gets your garage and new shed emptied out so I can have a place to store the parts and work on the sleds...................hey..then she could cut my hair too..cool...you better get to sweet talking that girl..........

That's reaallyy funny 'cause I decided to hang on to the four big *** boxes full of misc. parts (that I really want out of my shed!) to sell to A.S.S until this winter so I could get more $$$ for them, that what I get for being greedy!

hmm...thats odd, cant remember where I put that extra 150K in the house.

Wow, hope the company stays!

I wonder if the sale has something to do with AJ getting hurt this past season. What ever the reason I hope someone will carry the shop on and I hope he is getting better.

I dunno why for sure... but there are several factors. Scott was in a bad motorcycle wreck last year, AJ getting hurt, and i think overall, scott is getting tired of the daily hassle that goes along with running the shop. Plus he had one partner, maybe both of them were just plain sick of it. I'm good friends with AJ, he doesn't seem to have a 100%... this is why reason. At the end of the day, the only real thing that i can say is its a huge bummer, and i hope someone will recognize there is a huge market up here in the used parts world... there are 6-10 auto recycle companies... zero now for sleds.

There has to be a reason for that. I thought about opening a shop that sold aftermarket parts and did repair on all brands of wheelers and sleds but that I'm not sure what it would take financially to do something like this.

Its not because he was losing money... I'm friends with the guy. His shop was SWAMPED... two week waiting list to get your sled in throughout the winter. One day he was considering keeping it open during the summer... the next minute... DONE?

He did this for 23 years.... he recently retired from the operators union, sold some of his other real estate... last winter he took multiple trips out of state... i think he is keeping a close eye on the crippled Arizona housing market to be perfectly honest - he couldn't be in a better position to start snow-birding....

Heard rumor from a friend that another friend and 2 partners went in on. Should be opening in the next few weeks just a few blocks away from the old shop.
