A monkey and his poo (first ride)

O.K. Another cat guy here, and man is my back sore.

I found that I needed to be back on the running boards to swing it up on edge, but once up on edge it was easy to hold (not as easy as my M-sled)

I'm going to narrow the ski stance to 39" and ditch the sway bar. I'd also tighten the center shock a few turns so the front end lightens up, and that will be my next step if the sway bar doesn't make it more nimble.

Yesterday was my first ride, and it started out with me thinking I had made a mistake. I got 2 different thumbs up on the way out the road (had to be the wrap) which kept me settled. As the day went on my smile kept growing as I was able to identify several handling characteristics that were better than the M-sled mainly low speed off camber flat ski angles. I also love how far the handlebars turn.

I think poo is jiggling my marbles at 439# dry (anybody put 63 pro on a scale).

The powder was 1' of fresh heavy snow, and we found 1 bowl that the sleds in my group couldn't climb out of equating to a 40 second wot pull, with a deep/steep 4' pocket 1/3 the way up causing most sleds to turn out.
My pony climbed through this like a homesick angle. No complaints here.

All in all, at the end of the day, I was smiling ear to ear, and this monkey was hard pressed to load it back up.

I want to go ride SOOO BAAAD today, but got to take the Wifey to Sunday meeting. Guess what I'll be thinking about!!

I have 2 163 pros tighten the front track shock up all the way makes a huge diff also keep the sway bar on or you will just plow the front end when sidehilling also move the skis in all the way good luck

Yup narrow ski deal, swaybar in, shock harder in front.....pipe and high comp head...done deal

Oh weights correct btw +/- a few pounds

where did you buy your wrap from?

My buddy picked it out when he bought the sled. I then purchased the sled from him with 100 miles on it so no credit goes to me on the wrap.
It's arcticfx and came from triple S.

I've found the same thing. If you pull the bar the front will dive unexpectedly and can throw you off. So... either get the front shocks revalved or keep the bar in and only use 1-2 turns of spring preload. With the front ski shocks softer you don't have to crank up the front track shock as much; too much and you can have spring bind on big hits = bad things happen, especially with shocks that don't have bottom out bumpers!!!

Have FUN!

Dry Weight

I put my Pro-Assault on the scales and it was within a couple pounds of the listed dry weight. Many have weighed the regular 55 and 63 Pro's as well and they are spot on. As for having trouble throwing this thing around, my center to center is 43.5 and it's never been a problem. The assault skid is located one inch down in the front mounting location, also have heard of alot of people having issues if their rear track shock is too tight. The manual gives some info on this as far as un-sprung length and is pretty close. You can play with it from there. As far as removing the sway bar...doesn't sound like a good option, most are finding it's un-necessary and that if they play with the rear skid it was suit them just fine.

This shows me that there are many differnt ways to ride the same sled..

I'm a smaller guy, and ride mostly straddling the tank with my feet in the footwells on the PRO 155 and 163 most of the time except on steeper sidehills or when I need to put more "english" into the sled.

On the dragon or the M8 I had for a week last season I would need to be "wrong foot fwd", dangling to get the sled to do the same thing in the same snow...

I agree with the above... IMO don't pull the swaybar on the PRO without some revalve/shock work and different springs.

If you are coming off an M-series... it will take some serious practice to get this thing "under your belt"... but I believe it will be worth the effort!
