well i did the avid chaincase in my 2012 pro. and since it is going to have a turbo i didn't want to run the 19/45 that they recommended. that would have given me way to low of gearing i thought at 2.37. i tried lots of combinations and the ones that worked with the 80 pin chain were a 21/44 which comes out to very close to 2.1 which is stock and the 22/43 which is 1.95. i think after a little wear you could do a 22/44 but the chain was just to tight to get that done when new. i ended up going with the 21/44 for now and i might go to the 22/44 later. i will let you all know.

I did 20 45 on my bone stock with a 163 3 inch. It seems to work good. I think 19 45 is to low

I am at 19/45 with a 162 x 3" and i am going lower. Head and can only. When I look the the primary there is still 1/2" of sheave untouched. This tells me there is still ratio I am not using.

Not to over state the obvious but.... if your running 8T-3P drivers with the Avid kit don't you need to divide the final gear ratio by 1.05. So your 2.37 (19/45) would be a 2.26. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I know you said nothing about changing the stock drivers so bad on me for reading more into it if that's the case.

Are the stock drivers not 9T 2.86P ? If so they have an approx. circumference of 25.74" vs 24" for the 8T 3"P which would mean your final gear ratio is effectively lower. Correct or not ?

HV, your math is correct but the stock drivers on the RMKs & Pro are 8T-2.86p.

Thanks. Believe it or not, I had my axle out for a track swap, but never thought to count teeth on the drivers.

Sent from my iPhone when I should be sledding.

the avid drivers are about a 1/4" in diameter smaller then the stock drivers so i am guessing that the drivers will not make much of a difference.
