A little early but.....

Hey guys, I'm new to Utah since I just moved out from Michigan in mid November. I haven't been able to go riding at all yet so my mind is already wandering towards asphalt and grass racing. I've been told to check into Rocky Mountain Raceway but as far as grass drag racing, are there any organizations I can look into around here? I was able to go check out somegrass racing near Sardine canyon (?) just past Mantua before the snow hit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Utah State Snowmobile Racing Association.

www.ussra.net

They are based out of Weber County, but its the only local one I know of. Some peeps out of Southern Idaho have a really good series aswell. I think the site is www.xtremesnowmobilesports.com.

There is a yearly race in Idaho.........Mountain Home I believe, that is a big race for the west here.
There is races all over the west, but those are the closest that I know of.

Good luck, and welcome to Utah.

Thanks JSCC! The one I did see last fall was put on by Extreme I believe. Lots of mountain machines ( Go figure right) but not many straped down short trackers running chissles. Looked like a good time.

Are there a bunch of sleds that run asphalt?

I'm afraid your not going to find very many asphault guys. Way to much, boating, motorcycle,4wheeling, golf, etc. to be had out here. Plus we ride sleds through memorial day quite often. :D

I guess I expected that. In the north east grass and asphalt are real big. I guess when I do go back to get the rest of my stuff I'll be sure to grab my clubs and all the parts to get my 250R back together. ;)

Maybe I'll make it on the snow before it all goes away.... Just need a trailer.

Nice rides.
I have a 97' Mach on my shelf that was to be my next dragger. Fell out of it due to so many other interests, and family.

Most of the drags here locally are centered around mountain sleds. They do allow short trackers, but not to many people enter the classes. The bigger races have a better following of short trackers, but they are few and far between out here.
