Not really a snow condition report...but an AHole report. Beware of your fuel tank while parked in the parking lots of our great riding areas. We returned to the truck in the Sheman parking area near Pindale, WY. After loading and preparing to leave we noticed the gas tank was completely emptied. I guess they think they have it so bad after riding, greed and envy come raging in to their head. How many we're in their group? I must assume it was more than one person. This sucks. Now I feel like private pile in Full Metal Jacket. Am I the AHole with the unlocked foot locker? Our group is now motivated to install locking fuel caps on out pickups, which, by the way, everything else was locked up tight. Toolboxes, trailers and tailgates were all locked, all but the fuel. Is that all they would have takien?
Although this sucks, I still love the area. Staying in Alpine provides some of the best riding around. I'll be back. I'll just have more keys to deal with. Ride safe everyone.

Yep someone took my fuel from the Louis Lake parking lot on South pass, last weekend.

Left me with enough to coast down the hill to get fuel.

Sorry about your trip, especially when it's in Wyoming. Usually don't have these problems, guess they are beginning.

makes a guy wonder what would of happened if you came back when they were taking it, would they have run or done something? Hard to say what could happen in a remote area if they out number a guy.

You don't have to have a concealed permit in Wyoming. I carry when sledding, but not because I think I'm gonna need to shoot a person. I carry just in case I get stranded and need to signal someone or want a hot meal.

Most of you guys are too young but I remember as a kid you HAD to have a locking gas cap back in the 70s. When gas prices went up and it actually got hard to get gas was getting siphoned from tanks everywhere. It's pretty sh#$y when it happens in the mountains, could make for a huge hassle.

There has been multiple reports of trucks having there tanks drilled up here. Drilling a hole and then on there way they go.

Man what I would give to catch someone doing this to ANYONES rig. For sure my rig but if I saw someone siphoning gas or freaking way worse drilling a hole in a gas tank it would be on. What ever they used to get to the parking lot would never run again, that is for sure.

I can relate Matte, I threw my cover from my new Pro into the cap on my pickup, when I came down off the mountain my cover had been jacked. Apparently there's A-Holes everywhere you go.
