a/f gauge failure??? Anyone???

Been running an Innovate digital wideband a/f. Installed on the back side with a copper bung and I can't keep the darn thing from reading 'failure'. Fuel type very consistent using 70/30 mixture of 114 and 91. Keeps flashing error on the trouble light. And reading 14.9 which I know is wrong. Other gauge showing 13.1 consistently!?!? Any ideas? Too far for snow to run up against sensor! Always let the sensor preheat! Just don't know??? All help would be greatly appreciated:-)

Innovate does have a forum you can try and one of there tech guys may be able to help ya.I got one of those a/f gauges as well and its sitting on the shelf.I could not get the thing to work right neither it also caused me a bunch of grief. Good luck

Had one on my turbo M7, did the same things, what a f*cking pile that thing was  Innovate wont get anymore of my $$$$ ever. NGK will be my next A/F gauge. I dont want to fiddle with my gauge everytime I want to ride.

Yeah, reading a faulty gauge seems to only worry a man more. Thanks for the info guys. It's still under warranty. Going to send it in to Innovate and get my money back and invest in something else. Only ran true for the first couple of rides last year! You guys rock. Appreciate your info:-)

Easy fix!

All that happened is you had a very brief power interuption. May have been power or ground and now your gauge is reading the wrong fuel. Simply, power the LC1, plug it into a computer and program it for gasoline again then it will work fine for you. When you do so, you'll most likely find that it skipped to diesel (judging from the numbers you're quoting). Good luck!

Hey thanks guys. I'll try that out Blue Light. That will save me some $$. This forum is great. Always finding out new and different ways of doing things:-)

I had the same issue 14.9--- 17---- err Replaced the 02 sensor if you run leaded fuel this kills the sensor replace I have to replace about 400 miles

How good is the ngk air fuel gauge, I did look at there website and there price is not bad. I want to put one on my turbo nytro.

Leaded shouldn't take out the sensor that fast. I've had them in 2 strokes for over 2400 miles without skipping a beat.

PS I've got an extra Innovate O2 set up I'd be willing to sell, if anyone is interested pm.

the leaded fuel contaminates the sensor and takes the coating off. Ngk sensors are the best. the will work fine with any af ratio gauge if you can get the right connector

Back when leaded gasoline was still available, a single tankful of leaded fuel would kill most O2 sensors in a few hundred miles. (That is a main reason why the government finally eliminated leaded fuel.)Home or professional auto repairs that have used silicone gasket sealer that is not specifically labeled "Oxygen sensor safe", "Sensor safe", or something similar, if used in an area that is connected to the crankcase. This includes valve covers, oil pan, or nearly any other gasket or seal that controls engine oil. Leaded fuel will ruin the O2 sensor in a short time. If a car is running rich over a long period, the sensor may become plugged up or even destroyed. Just shorting out the sensor output wire will not usually hurt the sensor. This simply grounds the output voltage to zero. Once the wiring is repaired, the circuit operates normally. Undercoating, antifreeze or oil on the outside surface of the sensor can kill it.

NGK A/F gauge OWNS the market  It reads faster than the Innovate and produces a reading instantly. Going with that for sure

havent heard much on the NGK gague here its always ben the AEM, I think about 2 people actually have innovative AFR gagues on here that work.

If ngk makes it I am sure its good stuff the 2 best sensors on the market would be NGK or Denso
