so i managed to find a hidden rock while out riding yesterday with my 13 pro. lower a arm glue pulled out on end and broke on bulkhead side, upper a arm bent, steering arm and shock both bent. wanting to upgrade a arms and possibly shocks to something aftermarket and looking for opinions and experences. im planning on calling most of the manufatures and picking there brains as well. really like the idea of the timbersled barkbuster kit cause i can replace everything including shocks all in one easy purchase, any thought on this. also what about narrowing it up to 36", positives and negatives.
im 200 lbs, love aggressive tree riding and boondocking but also like to air it out at times. thanks guys

had something similar happen but it was the glue that let go and I didn't hit anything. Had a bunch of people say to get the alternative impact 36" A-arms $450 for the set and then I bought raptor shocks $1,150 for the front. Haven't rode the set up yet shocks are supposed to be in a few days after christmas but all the reviews I received were awesome. Hope this helps.

really like the idea of the AI 36" arms. any drawbacks to the narrow front end. never rode anything with that narrow of a stance other than the XM...but thats a whole different animal.

Not very often...only ride trails to get to riding area. Not a person that really cares about how my sled handles on the trail

Zbroz 36" kit and Exit shocks are my favorite. I really like the A arms, when they do bend, it is on the outer part. This means that the shock is not going to be damaged unless you completely destroyed the sled.

thats what i want to hear! i hit a stump 2yrs ago on my 900 very hard (way harder than i hit this rock) and the lower a arm buckled but everything else came out fine, no other damage.
i talked to zbroz yesterday and its sounding like the 36" kit may not be for me, he recomended i stay with the stock 39" stance.

Why did they not recommend the 36" stance?

I am running CMX's front end with raptor shocks. Best combination I have found. I had ran z bros arms and exit shocks before and really liked them and also the service, but I switch everything out to the cmx front end and the k mod rear and I can not be any happier. We rode last week and the road up to the hill was getting pretty whooped out. It seems on my sled I feel at least half of what I feel if I am on one of my buddies sled or even my wife's pro.

Look up cmx's website or even five Mark a call, He is great to answer any questions or help with setup

he said if im not hammerin extremely tight trees all day long every weekend, and since i like to jump, the 39 was a better fit.

Hoping to get mine back friday so ill let you know how it handles if I do. Theres another thread on here and the guys were saying stay away from the Zbroz 36" because you can't use the sway bar with his kit and that makes a huge difference just something to think about.

Ditched the sway bar when I first started using the 36" kit when they first came out. Common sense dictates that these are not for trail riders.

I can't comment as I haven't been able to ride mine yet but this is just what's been mentioned in the other thread...

The problem with the ZBroz 36" arms is you can't use the sway bar. Without the sway bar the sled will want to dive to the low side and pull you into tree wells, etc. No amount of spring preload can make up for the handling with the sway bar attached. I got rid of my ZBroz arms and went with the Alternative Impact 36" arms because it allows the use of the sway bar. It is a night and day difference.

I have three days riding with the Alternative impact 36 A Arms and really like them. This is on a 2013 Pro and I use stock shocks. Can be a little tippy at first but got used to them. I Don't use trails but to get to the powder and don't jump. I went with Alt Impact over Zbros because of the sway bar attachment and Dan was real helpful. The price is much better than stock, stronger and lighter. Word of caution, order two sets so you will have a spare and it is much cheaper than ordering individual a arms.
