99 Summit X - easiest way to change hyfax?

Does anyone know if it is ok to widen a few windows on the track (ie: cut them wider) in order to install new hyfax without removing the skid frame?

Without damaging or compromising the track integrity/longevity.

I know guys do it. Rotate track 180 degrees before doing next side.
