99 summit x 670 flooding

My girlfriend has a 99 summit x 670. if you park it and turn it off with it pointed down hill, even just slightly. it is flooded when you try to start it. she had a 97 summit x 670, it did the same thing. anybody had experience with this, or know of a fix, help would be great. Thanks guys!

had the same problem but i also found it started better if you held the throttle pinned on the first pull.

I beleive this is a very common problem for this motor I was also told of this from my buddy when I bought my 97 Summit from him to try not to park on a very big down hill that it will flood, Have read of this problem in many other threads. Lots of people try different carb changes but I haven`t heard of a solution yet. would be cool to hear one.

Try not to park pointed downhill, lower the float level slightly, make sure needle/seat are not leaking through, ALWAYS grab full throttle and get a good pull on the first try when starting warm. Just a trait of the rotary valve engine, plus the engine being tipped forward and the carbs being already at an angle makes it even worse when pointed downhill.
A buddy actually made an engine plate that allowed him to mount his 670 lower and LEVEL in the S-chassis and it helped with the flooding issue alot.

Replace the needle and seat assemblies. No matter how much you clean them and they don't seem to stick while the carbs are apart, they can very easily stick on those carbs. I had a 99 670HO and filled my jugs and pipe twice before I replaced them. Cleaning them didn't work the first two times.

The way to fix the 97 was to open the carb up and straighten the float arms (there is a bend in them, tap with a hammer, then trim them so they don't rub on the float bowl) THEN adjust the floats to factory specs. Doing this will fix the flooding when pointing downhill problem once and for all. IT will not help in the event of a rollover tho, then it's just pull the plugs, pull your guts out, re-install plugs and start and go.
