I think I found a good deal on a set of slp twins, for a 99 700, will they work on my 97 rmk with minimal hood notching? Will there be any hot spots with the keihnins?

I don't know about the hood clearance but as far as performance goes both the 97's and 99's used Keihin carbs so you should be good to go in that regard.

As long as its RMK to RMK they should fit. The Gen 2 belly pan was a little wider but the RMK pipes were pretty close to the same.
