98 Summit X 670 limiter straps broken

Just bought the sled last week. Went to lube the rear susp and found both straps torn completely through. Was this sled hard on straps? Did the previous owner have them set wrong? Did he maybe cut them on purpose? Will it toast the front shock if I ride without them?

List price from Ski-Doo is about $48 each. Any ideas where I can get them cheaper?

The original straps were junk and broke easily,they are superceded by better straps.

and its ten years old and sh!t might need to be replaced..........
