98 polaris 700rmk need perc info and 09 assault wire diagram

Hi i have a 98 polaris 700rmk and i want to put perc reverse on it what do i all need. I have the secondary clutch and 03 700rmk wiring harness and 03 recoil .now do i just need the cdi box or do i need a different stator to. and for my 09 assault dose anybody have wire diagrams for it thanks

Cant help with the assault issue, but the 98 needs a different CDI, Stator, flywheel.

And coils and it can't be done. The 98 doesn't have a TPS. All of the reverse CDIs have TPS input. I suppose you could try and put the whole setup from like an 04 700 on it with the carbs/TPS/etc, but that's a VES motor with a different timing curve.

You know what, your right. With out the rack's off of a newer sled it won't work.
 
PERC

Ok, so to put PERC onto an older 700 it would take.....

rack carbs (TPS)
flywheel
stator
CDI
and a switch of some sort.....

One step further.....Say I have all this stuff off of an '05 800 RMK.....will this drop of 100 c.c.s still function fine?........

If it won't work, then I have all of this stuff for sale......
 
Hmmm.... the biggest issue is that the timing curve in even the VES 700 CDI is quite different than the non VES motor. 800 even more so.

You'd have to find the curve mappings for each one and see how they compare... that info used to be in the service manual.

Perc reverse

I have put the perc reverse kit off of ebay on my 98 700 with a set of tm 40 rack carbs. The carbs are 40's on the 700's and 800's. The kit I bought replaced the cdi box, came with a team secondary, tach, handlebar switch and wire harness. You need a newer stator, 01 or newer 7,800 stator, Team secondary with reverse helix, rack carbs, a cdi for an 03-04 700 rmk, new handlbar switch with the button and coil, which is cheaper to replace than the 98 cdi/coil combo. I also replaced the oil pump with a reverse oil pump off a newer sled. As far as the timing curve, I am running the 03 rmk add on cdi on my non ves motor and the thing runs awesome. I have been running this setup for 3 years with no issues. The carbs are better, the clutch is better and I have reverse.
 
800 - 700

I have not tried it.

a buddy of mine tried it and it would not run very long. He determined that the stroke was incorrect for the timing of the 800 ignition. I am too lazy to pull it all apart since I just got the machine running. I have all of the parts for the 800 reverse except the coil. I don't think I am going to use it.
