98 Indy Lite Touring Parts

Who has some ideas for finding some parts for my son's 98 indy lite touring. He rolled it over yesterday and the peice that the windshield connects to got broken. It's not the whole hood as that part goes through the hood and is held on under the hood. I'm haing some issues finding replacement parts for it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Dennis KIrk has lots of old stuff as does Royal distributing

If you are needing this part, they are getting hard to find and worth their weight in 2-stroke oil.
I found one on ebay in 2014 for $175 and sold mine for $177 and it was in better shape.

In your searches, you might keep an eye out for a Gen II windshield bag. Roughly a 2000 model year had two pieces. I used the bolts that hold the windshield to the piece you are looking for and made holes in the back of the bag to just bolt it on. Nice to keep hats and spare gloves for the kiddo.

nice work and a good option. Can you by chance snap a picture of how you mounted it?

I sold that sled 5-6 years ago so no close up pics.
I had a couple long strips of plastic maybe an inch wide that I drilled corresponding holes through that matched the bolt holes between the windshield and the support piece you originally asked about. Marked the bag for a hole and used a hot soldering iron to burn a hole through at the right spot. Bolt through all the windshield stuff and then through the bag and then the plastic backer inside the bag to keep the curved shape.
If I had storage room I would have kept that sled. 136x1.5" track, plastic skis, skid plate, bags, electric start and heated grips. The kids loved it.

Oh yeah, hydraulic brakes too.
The kid smacked a tree with it so I had to replace the hood. I couldn't find a year matched graphics kit so they don't match, but oh well.
Hood was rattle canned.
